My story of living abroad and being a mom
I was born and raised in Bussolengo, in the province of Verona, but I’ve been living abroad for quite some time now.
In 2015, I moved to Saudi Arabia, where my husband had been working for almost a year. I still remember when this job opportunity abroad came up. It was 2014, and sitting on a bench in Lazise, by Lake Garda, we decided together to seize this chance life was offering us and to start a new life, a new family in another country. He would leave in a few months, while I, due to work and bureaucratic reasons, would join him almost a year later.
As determined and aware of the decision as I was, leaving everything that was safe and familiar was a shock. One day you’re in your house, with your routine, your job, your loved ones, your certainties, and the next day you’re in a completely different place, starting from scratch.
The Arabian experience enriched me greatly.
It took time, but we built wonderful friendships with people from all over the world.
I then grew to appreciate the beauty and convenience of living by the sea.
I learned to prioritize what’s essential. In the transition from Saudi Arabia to Germany, I had to pack 6 years of life with two young children into 7 suitcases.

I learned to prioritize what’s essential. In the transition from Saudi Arabia to Germany, I had to pack 6 years of life with two young children into 7 suitcases.
In 2018, due to a rule within the campus where we lived, I was no longer allowed to work. This sparked a drive within me to start thinking and building a career that was entirely mine, one that would fully reflect my capabilities and that I could pursue no matter where in the world we went.
However, the most significant and life-changing event during our time in Arabia was becoming the mother of two wonderful daughters: Gioia and Gemma.
In 2021, I bid farewell to Saudi Arabia and began a new adventure in Germany.
Another leap, another culture, another language.
I'm continually learning that for every kind of leap, it takes time, persistence, and patience.
How did my passion for breastfeeding and infant sleep begin?
It was with the birth of Gioia in 2016, my first daughter, that I fell in love with breastfeeding. I can’t quite put into words what it sparked in me, but it’s something I felt deeply from the very first time I breastfed her.
However, at some point, a sense of frustration also surfaced within me. Yes, a frustration of being surrounded by friends and others who wanted to breastfeed, but due to a lack of accurate information, they had to face challenges without support. In many cases, they stopped breastfeeding, much to their regret. I wanted to help each of these women, but at the time, I only had my very limited personal experience, which wasn’t enough.
I began by reading, studying, attending courses, and pursuing further education by attending breastfeeding training schools and also volunteering in an association.
In 2022, I took and passed the exam to obtain the IBCLC certification. IBCLC stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. This defines a professional specialized in the clinical management of breastfeeding and human lactation. To learn more about this professional role, look here.
I felt the need to also specialize in infant sleep because many of the questions parents often ask me are about sleep.
I strongly believe in teamwork among professionals because it’s through the combination of skills and knowledge that real support can be provided to a family.
I consider myself in continuous training because one truly never stops learning.
